I rarely photograph macro, but when I do, I usually take many photos that I end up liking for one or another reason. This photo I like because of the sense of depth it has, and relatively distorted sense of size. This flower is no more than 8 mm wide and the hole you see is only couple of mm wide, but yet, it looks so big on photo… So, I hope you like it to.

I was in zoo in Zagreb recently. The zoo is nice enough for me, and since I wasn’t in any other zoo, I can’t compare it with others. But, the trouble was that the net on the cages is often to dense and thus preventing photographing the animals without it showing in the photo. Others that have some sort of glass, it’s blurred and often scraped, so no photography trough that as well. Solution of this problem would be to provide openings in the net size of let’s say 10×10 cm. Of course, where that’s possible. That would give us place where we could photograph the animals without fence in the way.
I’m writing all this because of this little owl, with interesting glance. But if you look more careful, you’ll see a fence running over the bird. And, yes I know that opening of 10x10cm in case of this bird wouldn’t be brightest idea.
But, there could be installed some kind of glass. Well… I suppose that professionals get better access to the animals and don’t have problems of this kind. And for rest of us, it’s only for our album, blog or whatewer, so it’s not so important if sometimes there is a fence on the photo.
So, my dear reader, I’m asking you, did you have similar problem in the zoo in your town or country? How it goes there? Feel free to write your thoughts in comment on this blog.
Cool glance of this bird. I think it clearly explains name of the post.
Whoa, three posts in 6 days! Not bad, it’s been a while since last time that happened. Anyway, photo for today is really fresh for my terms, I took it last Sunday. The day was cloudy, but in a summer way, every once in a while there would be a blue patch on the sky. I knew that sunset should be interesting so I went to the nearby lake on the Drava river, and I was not wrong! Afternoon was boring, grayish-bluish, but evening came and sun did it’s art of job.
While sun was performing behind me, I couldn’t miss the opportunity to photograph this melancholic scene. It would be a sin!
Thank you for the visit, and feel free to write a comment. Here or on the facebook, doesn’t matter. I’ve installed a plugin for wordpress that publishes my posts to my wall on the FB automatically, but something is strange so I will publish this post manually, I’m wondering….
Unlike my bike, I can’t stand still for 30 seconds!
… so they say.
The forecast is new low pressure front from the south, so I thought this gloomy and gray photo will fit in to atmosphere nicely. I can already her wires buzzing in anticipation of the lightning.
