Lately, I’ve rarely been really satisfied with my photos. And it was not often to work on the photos the same day there were taken. This Sunday, with my friend Davorin I wanted to photograph sunrise on a little different place than we would usually go. This time we photographed north of the town we live in, instead on going on the Drava river to the south of town. The reason to go north is the fog. In this part of year there is always some fog in the early morning, and it’s still not to thick, you know, that type of mist that landscape photographers like. And that part of county is not to flat, there are small hills that roll down in small waves towards the Mura river.
Sunrise as sunrise, it’s always nice. But, fog was not too dense, there was not a single tiny cloud on the sky, the landscape lacked any really interesting objects to fill the frame so I used crops that still grow in this part of year. Photos turned out OK, some of them will be published here in coming days, weeks and months.
But that are not the photos that I liked so much. Nor were the ones I took in the woods not far away from place where we photographed sunrise. Yes, there were some sun rays finding their way trough the trees but I dind’t manage to photograph that too.
So, what was it, you’re maybe wondering? Well, later we drove to the Mura river, where warm autumn sun reminded me on IR filter that I always drag with me. Well, these photos I liked. There was a willow tree that I saw immediately, but the one on the river turned out better for me. And, I think I finally found the way to process IR photos and to be satisfied with results. I know that this photo would be rather boring in non IR view, but this blue and white (more or less) combination is making something well known in to something different.
OK, so finally here is the photo. I hope it deserves lengthy introduction it got. As always, yours comments are appreciated and feel free to share this blog with your friends on social networks.
